Having reimagined the interior of their Colonial-era home in more modern terms, the clients wanted an installation to define the central wall of their space. As one enters the house, the sculpture, from a distance, has the appearance of a two-dimensional work on a white backdrop. Nearing the living room, one begins to appreciate the installation as a sculpture that occupies significant depth, reaching out from the wall to become illuminated by the skylight above. Each glass component sits on a stainless steel rod that bends in accordance with the height and weight of that piece. The filigree cables that tether these tilting elements to the wall form a web of delicate lines, parallel to the floor, that weaves among the glass.
